The Performance Estimation unit at WCDMA Systems is responsible for providing state-of-the-art system performance estimates as a basis for system concept development, standardization, feature design, radio network dimensioning, and product requirement definition. The unit has a central role in maintaining Ericsson's technology leadership in WCDMA.
We are now strengthening our team and therefore in search of a motivated system engineer with a passion for applying rigorous theoretical concepts to real-world product development in a dynamic business environment. You will play an essential part in securing Ericsson's continued technology leadership in mobile broadband by developing and evaluating state-of-the-art radio resource management solutions for WCDMA.
The job contains the following activities and responsibilities:
Developing radio resource management algorithms based on sound theoretical considerations and commercial feasibility to support Ericsson's WCDMA product strateg
Evaluating algorithm proposals by way of system simulations and product implementation investigations and communicating the results in appropriate fora
Developing the functionality and quality of our Java-based radio network simulator to support WCDMA performance evaluations
Interacting and influencing a wide range of organizations on matters related to WCDMA system performance, such as Ericsson Research, product management, other product development units, universities, and the Ericsson services organization and customer units as required.
Qualifications
MSc, PhD, or equivalent
Good programming skills in Java and Matlab
Experience of telecommunication research or system design including simulations
Thorough knowledge of cellular system architecture and behavior
Experience of working in R&D teams across organizational and geographical boundaries
Self-motivated, flexible and well organized
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage both short-term and long-term goals, take initiatives, and work independently
Excellent written and spoken English
