We at Scania's Powertrain Control System are looking at expanding our team of system manager / system owner to meet the future challenges in the automotive industry. As a system manager / system owner you have a central part in forming and developing future powertrains for all brands within the Traton group. We need to supply industry leading performance and functionality to keep our position as leader in the heavy-duty market.

The team

In the Engine management System Software group we deliver the complete software for the Engine and Aftertreatment Control, which is one of Scania's most advanced real-time control system. Therefore the group is as well responsible for the complete engine and aftertreatment management systems. This includes system ownership, configuration management, iteration lead and release management.

The Engine management System Software group works strongly cross-functional by coordinating many different groups likewise for software development and testing during the development phase as well as with for production at the turning point from development phase into series production.

Beside that we are currently facing exciting challenges in delivering our Engine and Aftertreatment control system to several brands and companies within the whole Traton Group that are based in Sweden, Germany and the U.S. The development and improvements we are doing to our systems have an extremely large positive impact on the global environment over the next few decades.

Your role

As a member of the system manager / system owner team, you are responsible for one or more of our control system variants. This means you will have an overall control and responsibility of what is developed and delivered into the system to each corresponding software release.

For that you will follow up that internal and external requirements are handled by different groups and oversees the system roadmap to meet future challenges and needs.

As a system manager / system owner, you ensure that development of the system is carried out correctly and that the system can be described in an overall way for various stakeholders inside and outside Scania to enable production and service. As well will it be part of the system owner role to coordinate and follow up on software and calibration deliveries to each dedicated software release, construct the software files and deliver them to corresponding parts within Traton and handle deviations in the deliveries together with the project management and development groups.

The work is varied and stimulating and provides great opportunities for competence development, creates important experiences, product knowledge and provides a broad network within large parts of Scania. This guarantees very good future career opportunities both within and outside the powertrain control system domain.

Your profile

We are looking for an engineer with a Master of Science degree or equivalent knowledge in embedded systems development, engine control or experience in working with control units. Beside that you have amazing communication skills, be structured and self-sufficient you are a team player with a high learning capacity combined with good leadership skills.

The domain is technically complex, developed to the best performance and standards on the market sas well as is key to function, performance and environmental impact of our products. With that an engineering background or strong engineering interest with project management skills is expected.

Because of the cross-functional work in an international environment should you be fluent in both written and spoken English (Swedish is meriting).
