The Solutions Department develops one Cloud Packet Core for all accesses and services, with dual-mode operations, 4G and 5G. We deliver Massive IoT, Mobile Broadband and Enterprise Core on different cloud environments. What we do is a vital part of the accelerating digital transformation, building our networked society where everything and everyone that can be connected will be connected.
Position overview
PDU Packet Core is looking for two System Managers that will play a meaningful role in the development of Ericsson Cloud Core Solutions. You will focus on our value offerings and especially how they deploy and perform on cloud environments, both container and VM based.
The open positions are within the section Solution Design and System Management. This section consists of around 20 System Managers and Product Owners. You will be part of and collaborating with the System Manager team, and you will also coach and support the validation teams.
Responsibilities & Tasks
The focus of this role is to work with the characteristics and non-functional requirements of our Packet Core deployments. You will get the opportunity to work with deployments and installation aspects, doing studies on orchestration, capacity and performance tuning. Together with your colleagues and the validation teams you will make sure that the performance and characteristics of the solutions are world class.
Your main tasks will consist of:
Performing studies and investigations covering primarily the capacity, networking, HW and Cloud technical areas for new features and solutions. The receiver of these studies are Product Line, Product Owners and Development/Validation Teams.
Produce Solution Requirements from input such as studies, markets and Product Line.
Support Customer Units (CUs) and support Quotations (Q&A, RFQs, RFCs, RFPs). E.g. have technical dialogue with CUs to understand customer requirements and customer feedback.
Identifying and driving improvements in our solutions, products and way of working.
Technical competences wanted:
Cloud Native and Virtualization competence (e.g. Kubernetes, Openstack, VMware. SDN)
Packet Core Domain knowledge
Experience from working with characteristics and non-functional requirements of SW
Computer Networking (e.g. routing and switching) competence
System Security
