Join us as a System Engineer and you'll be looking at a career-defining role based in Västerås, Sweden.
We are the product development team for Propulsion Systems on a various types of trains such as Metros, Commuters, Regional trains, Inter City trains and High Speed trains. The propulsion system is composed from High Voltage system, Traction Converter system and Drives.
Your main responsibilities are to describe the complete system electrically in collaboration with fellow engineers, to perform performance calculations and to prepare and execute system tests. Acting System engineer means collaborating with other engineering departments in order to get all parts of the system to work together.
Your main role is in your project team in either customer or platform development projects. This position includes frequent international contacts (online) as most of our projects are delivered abroad and we collaborate with other Bombardier Transportation sites located in other countries.
As a System Engineer, you are responsible for one or more of:
• Performance calculations and reports;
• System requirements;
• System design documentation;
• EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) calculations and reports;
• System integration and performing of system tests in our Power Lab;
• Participate in integration on vehicle.
Qualifications
Key requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering;
• Proven experience in system development for industrial applications is desirable;
• Electrical system and EMC experience is beneficial;
• Experience with MATLAB is desirable;
• Experience with Plecs, Comsol Multiphysics tools is beneficial;
• Good communication skills, flexibility, driven for results, developing oneself;
• Experience within an international environment represents a plus;
• Fluency in English, Swedish is desirable.
