ADB SAFEGATE is currently seeking System Engineer within Airfield ground lighting
As System Engineer you will get the opportunity to be operative in global customer projects. You will be part of the System Engineering department in Östersund who is responsible for the quality of project deliverables of all technical tasks.
Airfield ground lighting (AGL) is a visual guidance and the heart of airfield operations. 'Intelligent' lighting makes the visual guiding process easier and improves situational awareness by switching lights on and off according to information shared by airfield surveillance and aircraft tracking systems. This allows for optimized aircraft routing to and from gates and a more efficient traffic flow, while maintaining or even raising the level of safety.
ADB SAFEGATE is a global company but the office in Östersund is a smaller office with 10 employees whereof four within system engineering. Åke Pettersson who is our Team Leader and responsible for the daily work is an expert within the field and he has a lot of knowledge to share. In the role of system engineer you will participate and work with many different parts such as;
• Participate in the system definition, design and realizations
• Prepare configuration information for factory validation and acceptance in support of the project/system engineers
• Perform the onsite configuration of the individual lamp control and monitoring system ensuring its best performance given the typical local conditions
• Support and perform system validation including factory and on site tests of the system
• Furthermore you will perform customer and internal trainings
• Generate and maintain the accompanying documentation like configuration and intervention reports, etc.
• Monitor and support service engineers during warranty interventions or maintenance contracts
• Support the technology manager in definition or validation of new features tools used for individual lamp control
• Ensure version control and configuration management of the several application programs and tools used for individual lamp control and monitoring systems
As we are working globally, this position may include approx. 125 travel days per year.
Qualifications:
You hold a bachelor degree or equivalent in electronic engineering. We believe you have 1-2 years of experience in the field but we are also interested in you who recently graduated if you have the right engagement and interest to get to know the area.
To handle the position as System Engineer you need to have knowledge within systems, software engineering, system design and electricity. You have good knowledge of Operative systems, programming and design.
Meritorious is experience of customer driven project work and knowledge in Powerline Communication such as FSK, OFDM and computer networks. It is a requirement that you speak and write English as well as Swedish fluently and it is also advantageous if you speak an additional language.
