Your workplace
Aeronautics, a business area of Saab, offers advanced airborne systems, related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aerostructures and services to defence customers and commercial aerospace industries worldwide. Aeronautics is also responsible for development, production, marketing, selling and supporting of the Gripen fighter.
The section Computer systems within area Simulators, Training and Support is mainly responsible for computer systems for Saab's internal and external simulators and support systems. Other services that the section provides is evaluation, acquisition and adaptation of new system components.
The competence area includes operating systems, drivers, real-time systems,
I/O systems, network and information security.
The computer systems are included in simulators as well as in technical and tactical support systems which are supplied to both Swedish and customers abroad.
Your role
We are looking for someone who is interested in working in a machine-oriented environment with components that are common to Saab's flight simulators. The work means that you must have good knowledge of the principles of operating systems and good analytical skills. You will be working with programming real time systems and hardware programming of for example CAN applications or drivers.
There are great possibilities to influence the role with an element of system design, development, advanced troubleshooting, verification, delivery and training of the customer. The service may involve some travel when our customers are both abroad and in Sweden.
Your qualifications
We want you to have several years experience of software development and preferably experience in real-time systems, API development, network and communication software and operating system programming in Solaris and Linux.
The work requires good knowledge of programming, mainly in C, but also knowledge of Ada. Good knowledge of real-time and operating systems is necessary. It is also desirable to have knowledge of programming in
C++, hardware programming and script languages.
Experience of tools such as DTrace, MDB, Gdb, Matlab, Make and version control systems is a merit.
The work is conducted in close cooperation with other departments at Saab as well as other companies and authorities within and outside the country. We expect you to have good interpersonal skills and the ability to express yourself in both Swedish and English.
We are looking primarily for someone who is a civil engineer in preferentially
computer technology with a solid background in the area.
The position entails working with classified information and requires Swedish citizenship.
