Your workplace
Security and Defence Solutions, a business area of Saab, offers command and control systems, airborne early warning systems, civil security systems and solutions, training and simulation, as well as telecom carrier.
At the division for Communication Systems, we develop software based products and solutions for land-, naval- and airbased military communication systems. The department for communication development is located in Järfälla and Linköping. With Software Defined Radio (SDR) and Networking technologies as a base we do product development and research. Presently we are involved in several exciting projects with international stakeholders and are looking for skilled engineers and researchers to our sites in Linköping and Järfälla.
Your role
Systems Engineer
Cognitive radio is an area that attracts growing interest from both tactical and civil solutions. The fundamental idea is to create communication systems that use the available frequency spectrum in a more flexible way than existing systems. In one of our international research cooperations, the research is focused on network resource management for cognitive radio systems. You will participate in this and other research and development projects to study and develop new solutions for resource management and routing techiques in mobile communications, in order to strengthen the Saab product portfolio in this area.
Your qualifications
You have most likely a master degree with several years of working experience, prefereably research related or with a research education. You enjoy working independently, but are also able to work in a team. A basic requirement is knowledge and experience of radio communication to a level to analyse mobile communication network properties through modelling and simulation (mostly using MATLAB or similar tools).
We also value knowledge in, or interest for:
• Cognitive radio technology based on software defined radio (SDR) systems
• Resource management, routing and QoS aspects within IP-based communicatino networks
Mobile ad hoc networks for civil and tactical applications
