This position is primarily responsible for the daily operations and administration of the IT infrastructure and the systems supporting it. On an on-going basis, this position will adjust infrastructure components, maintain and monitor systems and applications, and identify root causes of operational issues in order to resolve them.
Candidate should be committed to continual product and performance improvements, be able to communicate with confidence and clarity to both technical and non-technical audience, take initiative, and assume ownership of a wide variety of applications and deliverables. The successful candidate will possess a work style that promotes progress through collaborative teamwork in a wide technical environment.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Strong experience in Linux systems administration/engineering.
• Good working knowledge of Windows Server operating systems
• Excellent verbal communication and writing skills in english to effectively present information to management, colleagues, and clients.
• Good working knowledge of Cisco routers and switches
• Possesses an understanding of networking technologies (VLANs, sub netting, etc.)
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong working knowledge of storage techniques such as NFS and Ceph
• Hands-on experience with maintaining virtualization platform (Openstack/KVM)
• Experience of Cloud platforms and architectures
• Container management (Docker, Kubernetes, LXC
DAILY OPERATIONAL DUTIES:
• Manages system security, patching and vulnerability mitigation.
• Monitor events generated by servers, storage and network devices
• Monitor backups and configure backups for new systems.
• Assist customers with difficulties that they encounter.
• Works with other engineers to design and implement new systems and processes.
• Tracking of all maintenance/issues/modifications to all servers and elements in the environment
• Be part of our 24/7 Oncall, NOC & Servicedesk
