Job description
The Radio Resource Management algorithms unit at WCDMA Systems is responsible for defining optimal solutions to provide new functionality to our customers, while further enhancing the mobile broadband performance. We are involved in all phases of algorithm development, from evolution where new ideas are formed, through standardization, product specification, to performance in the field. The unit has a central role in securing Ericsson's technology leadership in WCDMA.
We are looking for a highly motivated system engineer, with strong analytical skills, capable of transforming abstract requirements into a sound technical solution, and taking it all the way to a working system in the field. You will work with the latest technical challenges together with competent colleagues, allowing you to constantly develop your knowledge and competence.
Main responsibilities
• Developing radio resource management algorithms based on sound theoretical considerations and commercial feasibility to support Ericsson's WCDMA product strategy.
• Supporting feature implementation and verification in the field.
• Interacting with a wide range of organizations on matters related to WCDMA system performance, such as product management, Ericsson Research, other product development units and customers.
Qualifications
• M.Sc., Ph.D. or equivalent
• Experience of working in R&D teams across organizational and geographical boundaries
• Thorough knowledge of cellular systems
• Strong analytical skills
• Self-motivated, flexible and well-organized
• Ability to manage both short-term and long-term goals, take initiatives and work independently
• Excellent communication skills
• Leadership interest and skills
• Excellent written and spoken English
