Yes you.
Are you up for a new challenge?

If you would like to get the opportunity to work in a rapidly changing environment and take part in the development of Volvo Buses future vehicles, then we would love you to come join our team.

This is us, your new colleagues

Platform Development is a function within Global Product Development at Volvo Buses which is responsible for platform development, architecture, project management and test. As an electrical system engineer you will be a part of the Electrical & Electronics Development department with its mission to develop, test and verify the electrical system through concept phases up to serial production and maintenance while optimizing demands on quality, deliveries, cost and features all over the world.

In addition to ours and your deep interest and experience from development of embedded control systems we love the world. And we love to travel. And together with your team mates you will be responsible for the coordination and introduction of new system and architectural solutions in buses all around the world. We have an exciting future ahead of us with new electrical architecture and high demand for features like connected services and active safety such as autonomous drive.

Sounds pretty awesome, right?

Role description: system engineer - electrical architecture

You will play an important role in the development of our new electrical architecture. The role requires frequent communication with external suppliers and our truck colleagues regarding communication, specifications and functionality. Depending on the current project portfolio and project phases, the focus for your work will vary but your main responsibilities within the role is to:

• Initiate and develop design concepts to meet objectives set by projects
• Develop new embedded system solutions together with our suppliers or truck colleagues
• Breakdown of project requirements to system level
• Create, modify, and release product documentations
• Actively taking part in developing working methods for embedded control systems
• Creating technical strategies and roadmaps
• Resolve quality issues in projects, in factories or on aftermarket

The Electrical and Electronics Development department is a global department which requires cooperation and traveling between our sites in Sweden, Poland, Mexico and Brazil.

Who are you?

To be successful in this job you need to have a high level of computer skills, knowledge from working with distributed electrical systems and in vehicle communication.
And since we are a part of a rapid changing world you are expected to have a willingness to challenge traditional working methods and take part in developing methods based on Lean-Agile principles.

But most of all you have an inclusive mindset. You have a strong customer focus, you communicate fluently in English and you love to be part of a team where we take own initiatives and take pride in your own and the team's deliveries.

If you have the stuff listed below as well, that would be great. However these are only preferable. Like sunshine on Midsummer. That would also be awesome, but I guess we are usually quite happy even if it's not.

• Master of Science in electronics/computer/mechatronics or similar
• At least 4 years experience from development of embedded systems in the automotive industry
• Knowledge in Model Based Development
• Experience from working, developing and maintaining communication databases
• Experience from agile development of embedded systems and especially SAFe methodology
• Knowledge and experience from working with ISO26262
Are we the perfect match?

If you love challenges. And you love to solve them. Then we would love you to join our team.

Curious, and have some questions? Call me!
