Kockums stands for leading-edge, world-class naval technology - above and below the surface. We design, build and maintain submarines and naval surface vessels that incorporate the most advanced stealth technology. Other successful products include Mine Countermeasure Systems, Working boats and Fast Ferries in our world leading composite technology. We are based in Karlskrona, Malmö and Muskö in Sweden. Kockums is part of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems.
The Commercial Vessels section manages all commercial applications of Business unit Surface ships products, i e the CarboCAT family of workboats and passenger ferries and the CSC concept. We are a small team with seven members with a need to expand.
Work tasks
As system Engineer at Commercial Vessels you will work with the vessel?s HVAC systems and outfitting and furnishing. You contribute with your technical competence in all steps from concept to delivery. The work mainly consists of development, proposal work, selection and integration of systems and components, preparation of technical documents for classification societies, flag states and Production, and support to Production during manufacturing and outfitting. You will be responsible for complete systems with respect to fulfilment of specifications, quality and other standards, schedule and budget/costs.
Qualification Profile
You have at least a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture, Marine Technology or Marine Engineering. You have knowledge and experience from shipbuilding with focus on HVAC and outfitting and furnishing. You have good knowledge in 2D and 3D CAD tools and relevant analysis tools. Good knowledge in Swedish and English, spoken and written, is important to succeed in the job, knowledge in German is meritorious. Experience from composite vessels is meritorious, as well as working with class societies and flag states or international experience.

You have easy to cooperate and good interpersonal skills. You are analytical, creative and driven. You work independently towards set targets. Furthermore you are flexible, structured in the way you work and meticulous.
