The WBTS unit within the R&D Product Development Unit WCDMA Radio Access Network is responsible for developing and maintaining 3G radio base stations for our Japanese customer NTT DoCoMo. The WBTS organization is located at Lindholmen in Gothenburg
Job description
We are looking for two young engineers to work with software system design within our WBTS organization. As System Designer, you will be responsible for a range of functions in the base station. This responsibility includes specifying new functionality such as High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA), troubleshooting, investigating customer questions, and supporting software designers and verification engineers. You will be the driver for your group of functions towards the customer, product management, system verification and software design. The functionality of the base station is specified in requirement documents. Each System Designer is responsible for updating and writing these specifications according to new requirements on the functionality.
Qualifications
A Master of Science from F, D, E or equivalent is required. Courses in the areas of digital radio communication and real time SW design are qualifying.
Competence
Suitable candidates will have knowledge in C and requirement-handling tools such as Requisite Pro. You should also have experience of designing sequence diagrams and state machines. You need to have a great interest in details of new technology but prefer a comprehensive view. You should be a fast learner, used to taking on responsibility, excellent at problem solving, and have good teamwork and communication skills. You also need to have a strong drive and be able to work on your own initiative. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
