Join us as System Designer within the Charging team. We are responsible for the development of competitive charging solutions for on-board charger and DC/DC. The team is the core competence centre in Northern Europe in regards to Charging solutions.
The on-board charger (OBC) is essential for electrified vehicles, it holds the functionality to charge the traction battery from the grid, and it is for sure of highest importance in a pure electric vehicle. Both AC- and DC-charging are in current projects and wireless charging is already around the corner. The DC/DCs coverts energy from the traction battery to the low voltage system for suppling all the 12/48V power consumers in the car.
What you'll do
You will be part of an engineering team that develop engineering systems solutions for on-board chargers (OBC) and DC/DC that fulfil requirements and manufacturing process demands within decided cost and time frames. Working with charging interoperability is also an important part of this role. You will work in a cross-functional environment with other departments within Volvo Cars Product & Quality.
You will be responsibility for the charging system solution in the car, which is result of deep discussion and collaboration with different attribute and function owners. Further, you will be responsible for develop a system fulfilling the agreed system solution within the project. Your main role on this position is to assure that solution comply with all agreed requirements by function owners, legal and insurance requirements and other attribute owners.

You are a self driven, efficient person who always strive to find ways to implement the best possible solution. To success we see that you are structured and a good communicator, used to cooperate with different stakeholders. If you have previous experience from an agile development, it is an advantage.
* BSc/MSc or several years of relevant experience
* System management experience - HW and SW development within automotive industry
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Driver's license (B)
* Meritorious; experience FMEA or ISO 26262, knowledge within data communication protocols for example; CCS, Chademo and GB/T.
