Ericsson in Linköping focuses on the development of radio network control within mobile systems. The unit is responsible for several central parts of Ericsson's mobile systems, and coordinates and leads the development of Ericsson organizational units all over the world. The development departments in Linköping also work with the next generation of mobile systems, products for residential mobile broadband, operations & maintenance systems, simulators and test plants for the delivery of products. The Linköping unit also carries out research for mobile networks of the future. We are now expanding, and are looking for both experienced staff and new graduates with a lot of drive within the following area.

Job description
In Ericsson's strive for a leading position within in the evolution into "ALL-IP" the Radio Access Network (RAN) is an important part.
The IP System Designer will have a central role within the transformation of GSM RAN into an IP based infrastructure.

Examples of task that will be carried out by this role are:

• System design of IP related GSM features.

• Feature responsibility towards the development projects

• Inspection of Requirement Specifications and Implementation Proposals.

• Support to different part of the organization in IP questions.

• Participation in Technical Investigations and Feasibility Studies.

Description of unit
Transmission and Platform is a section within BSS/BSC System and has responsibility for:

• The transmission between the Base Station Controller (BSC) and the Radio Base Station (RBS) within GSM

• The inherited platform used for the BSC, i.e. AXE and Integrated Site (IS)

Who are you?
The person we are seeking should have extensive knowledge within the IP area, but he/she must also have the ability to transfer this competence to other parts of the organization. Skills we are looking for are:

• MSEE or equivalent experience

• Excellent knowledge within the IP area (protocols, routing, applications etc.)

• Good knowledge in transport technologies in general.

• Earlier experience within the GSM Radio Access Network in particular and Ericsson''s products in general are advantages.

• Good teaching skills

• Excellent in communication in the English language, both oral and in written
