What we offer
Connected Experience unit within R&D includes Connectivity and Car Cloud Platform, Infotainment Platform, Applications and Data & Diagnostics. Our vision and strategy are to maximize the attractiveness of owning and using a Volvo, make all cars connected and provide a continuously enhanced experience for both new and existing cars. The ART Connectivity Platform within the Department Connectivity and Car Cloud Platform are responsible for delivering Global Connectivity as a service - E2E including HW, SW and Mobile Network Services. The platform we provide is the prerequisite for all connected applications and services within the vehicle. Additionally, all positions within Connected Experience in Gothenburg are located at our new office at Lindholmen.

What you'll do
Your purpose as a System Designer, together with your colleagues in your agile team and the product owner, is to provide stepwise (business) value to the larger solutions/systems (via the Agile Release Train - ART). With the main focus on system design, you will make sure that our customers get the best possible system with regards to functionality and quality within the area of Call Center Services. We also expect you to be on top of technology evolution and provide new ideas to continuously improve the product and our processes. The product's purpose is to enable connectivity for all cars delivered by Volvo Cars and Polestar. Your focus is on system design and making sure our customers get the best possible system with regard to functionality and quality within the connectivity area.

Do you fit the profile?
For you to fully enjoy this opportunity, we believe that you are a result-oriented individual with problem solving focus and a good ability to adapt to constant changes. Business acumen, integrity and courage are characteristics that describe you very well. You are a self-driven individual, someone who is positive and analytical. You need to be able to present the results in a structured and understandable way and take ownership of the product. You embrace teamwork, collaboration and are eager to learn and develop new competencies. Experience from working in the automotive or telecom industry is a clear advantage to succeed in this role.

We see that you have a BSc degree or higher in Software- or/and Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. You have several years of experience in system design, strong communication skills, and an EU driver's license B. In addition, you'll need experience and competence in the following areas;
* System design within large distributed systems
* Connectivity technologies like 3G/LTE, WiFi, BLE, GNSS, Ethernet, CAN, USB
Working with suppliers

Meritorious if you have experience in the following areas as well;
* eCall
* Electra
* System Weaver / Car Weaver
* Software development (C++)
* Testing
