System Designer - Climate & Comfort

The group Climate Control & System Design at the Electronic Department is pioneers in function modelling and in house software (SW) development. The group consists of 15 people and we provide a very dynamic and inspiring environment for a hungry System Designer. The different roles in the group are System Responsible, Subsystem Responsible, Modelling Engineer, Test Engineer, Change manager and Specialist. The team has specific processes and tools as well as agile methods as SCRUM. Model based software development and in house SW development, is in the strategy of Volvo Car Corporation and gives a big focus on our operation.

As a System Designer for Climate & Comfort you will be responsible for development of new system solutions for new functionality as well as support of existing systems. You will develop system solutions based on received property, system and legal demands. Important parts of the role are also to develop strategies for the area, secure solutions with Failure Mode Analysis (FMA) and ensure it follows our strategies. You will be part of a cross functional team with project manager, HW specialist and several functional/system designers.

Main responsibilities

• Develop new system solutions
• Support existing systems
• Create and maintain System Requirement Description
• Receive and balance demands
• Secure solutions with FMA
• Develop strategies for the area

Required qualifications

• M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree within Physics, Electronics or Computer Engineering
• Deep interest in technology, especially electronics and SW development
• Experience of working with development of similar area
• Experience from car industry or consumer market development
• Fluent in English, spoken and written

Personal qualities

• Communicative and diplomatic
• Flexible
• Positive attitude
• Good pedagogical skills
• Good decision-making ability
