About the team
Your team belongs to Power Conversion - Electrical Distribution & Charging providing solutions to the full Volvo Group platform of electric vehicles. The team is located in CampX, Lundby. CampX has a great environment of innovative and solution-oriented people working close together within and between teams. In your role as System Design Engineer you will naturally have a close cooperation with colleagues within Electromobility and with other departments within Volvo Group Trucks Technology and other business areas.
About the role
You will lead inhouse design of power distribution units for the electrical driveline of Volvo commercial vehicles globally. Cross-functional leadership and networking is central for the role as well as balancing design requirements between production, aftermarket, and our customers. You will create product time plans with our inhouse design team, consisting of 8-12 engineers. The parts will range from busbars, casting and harness's to fuses, contactors and PCBA's.

As Global Component Responsible you will also:
Drive the inhouse development of the Power Distribution Units
Contribute to the future roadmap of electrical driveline
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers/vendors based on quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability
Create technical requirements and drive continuous improvement and follow up initiatives to optimize product timeline
Create the team backlog by writing features and stories
Work cross functional with both internal and external suppliers
We are looking for...
A driven team player with extensive experience from electrical distribution and safety of electric drivelines. Experience in a dynamic and high paced product development environment is beneficial. You will play a key role in making our battery electrical vehicle more profitable for our customers than conventional drivelines. You also get motivated by the rapid development that is currently taking place in the Electromobility field.
The role necessitates the capacity to impartially balance requirements from diverse stakeholders while taking ownership of the final product. Given that this position serves as a connecting link between various components, effective communication skills and strong networking abilities are crucial for achieving success.
Requirements:
You have an MSc degree in Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronics engineering, Physics or Mechanical Engineering
At least 10 years of experience in product development, preferably within the automotive industry.
Technical knowledge in the Electromobility products, systems, and components.
At least 5 years of experience from leading teams, preferably agile teams.
Fluent in both written and verbal English.
Skills in CAD Design is meriting.
