Electromobility is one of the main development areas within Volvo Group and was created to be in the forefront of environmental friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.
We are responsible for the transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and to secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. We develop and drive the electromobility product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. Electromobility is a growing agile driven organization in place to shape the future!
The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.
To the ESS section we now recruiting a System engineers for the System Design team
You will be part of an agile and approachable organization with skilled product teams consisting of passionate people. What will you do?
We are working in a cross-functional way from concept and design to final verification and implementation in production. Your responsibilities are mainly to break down and evaluate the vehicle requirements down to Battery system level regarding attributes and functionality. You will be responsible to define the system design by setting up conditions and limitations, as well as drive the design towards the most customer value. You will be involved in technical decisions towards projects and suppliers, making sure that deadline are met with the right quality and at the right cost.

Who are you? Are we a perfect match?
We believe that to be successful in this position, you are a pragmatic team player that loves to develop System designs with the customer in focus. You have a broad knowledge and experience of both Electrical and Mechanical development and are used to express yourself within requirement specifications. We also believe that you feel comfortable of owning and take responsibility of your system and do so with great attitude. We believe that you have:
• Master of Science in Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written
• 5+ years in relevant engineering profession incl requirement specification
It is considered a merit if you have experience within one or several of the following: Automotive, ESS, Modular platform, Creo, KOLA, Agile Principals and methods.
