What you'll do

As a Senior System Design Engineer for Electrical Hardware, your responsibilities include the electrical design of high and low voltage distribution systems.

This involves:
* Component selection
* Close collaboration with suppliers
Designing the battery compartment for build-to-print

Your work encompasses one of the most challenging areas within the vehicle, addressing aspects such as packaging, installation, cooling, insulation/arcing, EMC, and other electrical properties.

What you'll bring

To thrive in this role we believe you have:
* Minimum 10 years experience of designing high voltage, high current electrical systems and components, with a focus on EMC, arcing, thermal runaway or equal
* Experience from the electric vehicle industry, working with components for trains, trams, cars, trucks, buses, or similar vehicles
* A mechatronic master's degree, or extensive experience in the field can be considered as compensation
* Proficiency in CAD design (CATIA, NX, or equivalent) and experience with packaging work in challenging environments are necessary
* Leadership skills
* Six Sigma certification
Expertise in vehicle battery electrical design is meritorious

In this role, you'll engage in stimulating discussions with various teams within Volvo Cars and suppliers. Excellent communication skills, an aptitude for interpersonal relations, and an organized approach to prioritize tasks are essential. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
