The DNEW Products & Production Architecture (PPA) systems team is responsible for 5G product definition, evolution, delivery and systems-level support. The broad range of responsibilities covers the RAN solution built from products in the Ericsson Radio System; including RAN compute central and distributed baseband units, radios, interconnect, transport and RAN functions to ensure that we have the SW and HW architectures vital to realize the company long term direction.
We are looking for system architecture study drivers with a background in designing and delivering large telecommunications HW/SW solutions. The job will involve proposing architectural solutions to deliver the next generation of Ericsson radio access network solutions. Work products include study items, technical reports, design estimates, requirements, problem resolution reports, pre-development items, capacity analysis and input to test strategies. The role also includes regular contact with product management and customer facing groups, to understand requirements and propose solutions. We are looking for individuals with a software background to drive studies that are changing our RAN products to be future proof for 5G and beyond!
You will
Drive technical studies and investigations, contribute to the evolution of the Ericsson RAN system offering
Participate in the creation of development plans, and strategies for hardware and software platforms
Support resolution of System Trouble Reports
Lead development of solutions to unlock maximum system capacity and performance
Support our customer facing units in understanding of operator current & future system requirements
Contribute in development of Intellectual Property
To be successful in the role you have
Master / Bachelor of Science or equivalent, with related work experience
Demonstrated ability in systems specification in the telecommunication field or related experience
Practical experience in crafting and delivering architectural solutions
Experience and knowledge the Ericsson radio portfolio, radio access network configurations and interface specifications
Ability to work in teams. Experience working in multi-site, multi-cultural work groups
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to deal with uncertainty
Asset Skills or Experience
Practical understanding of 3GPP specifications
Experience with developing systems based on open source software
Experience of implementing, supporting and fixing large scale systems in a fast-paced commercial environment, resolve issues or bring up in a concise manner
An ideal candidate would be a self-starter, detailed, organized, analytical as well as practical, and be able to work collaboratively with the broader system, design, business and integration/verification teams
