Do you have a passion for electronics, embedded systems, sustainable transports or Volvo trucks?
If yes, you now have the opportunity to join our department, Systems Engineering, taking responsibility for development of the new electronics needed in Volvo trucks to come. We are responsible for the development of the electrical & electronics architecture and the electrical system design. We targets development of an electrical system that can contribute to new customer features in world class trucks, and you will take a leading role within an agile release train.
Our team of system engineers works cross functional with engineers from many different areas. We share our knowledge and draw strength from our individual competences, to reach our common goal of delivering state of the art customer solutions, enabling customer success.
Position Description
As a System Architect you will join the leadership of an agile release train with approximately 50 engineers and be part of the architectural team covering the complete electrical system. You will work closely together with colleagues in an open-minded and creative environment, were you lead the way forward. You will guide the development of technical system solutions, targeting customer gains, which will be implemented in HW and SW. Your work will include high level analysis and management on system level, as well as proposing enablers for new functionality and defining technical solutions in general.
Vehicle Dynamics System Architect: Covers steering, breaking, suspension and the functions involved in vehicle dynamics and the behavior of the truck and trailer. There is a mix of safety features, driver support functions and also enabling autonomous drive.
Vehicle Automation System Architect: Covers technologies needed for Traffic Situation Management and other areas needed to decide best road, lane and speed, from longer strategy down to what to do now, this very fraction of a second.

Who are you?
We are looking for engineers who are both structured and thorough as well as having an open mind and positive attitude in team work and enjoy working with new complex technologies. You are experienced from leading technical development and are used to make technical recommendations. You have reflected on benefits of good system design and preferably have worked within automotive industries or with electrical system design in other industry branch.
Qualifications
Having a customer and business oriented mindset, with a passion for technical development
MSc electrical engineering, computer science, mechatronics or similar
Knowledge of system development of embedded real-time systems, electrical HW development or vehicle development
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
