Your workplace
Aeronautics, a business area of Saab, offers advanced airborne systems, related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aerostructures and services to defence customers and commercial aerospace industries worldwide. Aeronautics is also responsible for development, production, marketing, selling and supporting of the Gripen fighter.
Saab develops ground based support systems for use in operational environments as well as for education and training in Swedish and international defence training environments.
The work is conducted within tight-knit development teams in close cooperation and in regular communication with the customer. In our development, we use agile methods and modern development environments.
Your role
You will be working as a system architect/system designer, with the possibility of increased commitment through management responsibility for a sub-system or system. Your duties will vary within the following areas:
• Requirement and concept analysis
• Information modelling and partitioning
• System architecture, modelling and design
• Validation
• Documentation
You will acquire a wide network of contacts in our development organisation in Arboga and Linköping. Some travel may be required since our users are currently located in Sweden, South Africa, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Thailand.
Your qualifications
You have a master's or bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent. Ideally, you have previous experience of working with programming and system development within complex systems. You have mastered development on various platforms such as Linux (Unix) and Windows. You know the properties of C, C++ and C# and various frameworks, such as .NET, J2EE etc. You have previous experience in the design of architecture for complex information models and systems of systems concepts, and understand the importance of designing clear interfaces within a complex system architecture. You know and have worked with modern modelling languages, methods and concepts such as UML, MBSE and SOA. You have experience from demand-driven development and agile development methods.
As a person you are outgoing and energetic and keen to work with various software and systems development tasks. You will meet our customers and partners for technical meetings and discussions, which requires a command of English, both verbally and written.
The position entails working with classified information and requires Swedish citizenship.
