Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.

Shaping tomorrow's technology
At Function & Software Defined Vehicles, we shape tomorrow's technology by delivering sustainable, innovative, and data-driven solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and performance throughout the vehicle life cycle. We support the Volvo Group engineering community with advanced tools, methods, and architectures that enable continuous customer value even after the start of production.
Our strategy is to accelerate the Software Defined Vehicles journey by using a layered software and electronic architecture with industry-standard interfaces, enabling faster development and regional adaptation. By decoupling hardware from software, we ensure that software can evolve independently, unlock flexibility, scalability, and long-term performance improvements. We align our electrical and software architecture with business and operational models to fully leverage the potential of Software Defined Vehicles.

Your future team
We belong to the Vehicle Embedded Systems & Architecture, part of Function & Software Defined Vehicles within Trucks Technology & Industrial Division. We design, develop and maintain the Logging Framework for our new products.

What you will do
We are looking for a System Architect who will help us design and lead the implementation of the new Logging Framework and Observability within our embedded software platform. You will drive the next-generation logging platform architecture supporting Linux, AUTOSAR, QNX, CAN, UDS, and edge computing environments. You will also own the logging architecture roadmap, backlog prioritization, and delivery for onboard vehicle logging and observability platforms across global engineering teams.
Your responsibilities include:
Leading the work for the onboard Logging Framework and Observability
Coordinating onboard and offboard activities
Managing concepts and presenting new concepts within the responsible area
Leading the work to ensure the COVESA DLT software update in open source, which is used by Volvo suppliers (ICM, CGW, and VCM)
Architecting cloud-compatible AI pipelines for ECU and Azure deployment
Leading and driving work for software development
Guiding teams in their needs, priorities, and technical direction
Serving as the go-to person in this area

Who are you?
In this role, you are a trusted go-to person who leads through clarity, collaboration, and drive. You enjoy taking ownership, setting direction, and creating alignment across teams and stakeholders. You are confident in presenting and explaining new concepts in a way that builds understanding and engagement, and you have the credibility to guide teams in their needs, priorities, and technical decisions. You also thrive in dual responsibility, balancing both architect and project leading perspectives to keep delivery, quality, and long-term architecture moving forward.
Essential requirements:
Strong software development experience in C++
AUTOSAR Classic and Adaptive knowledge, including Adaptive basics (SOME/IP, ARA::COM)
Unit testing experience
System and integration testing experience
Experience working with CM tools

Nice to have:
Experience from automotive software, SDV platforms, vehicle diagnostics, and onboard observability systems
Experience leading cross-functional teams across Sweden and India
Experience designing scalable onboard-to-cloud architectures supporting ADAS, ECU diagnostics, and edge computing

What's in it for you?
You get an opportunity to work together with highly skilled colleagues in a fun, exciting, and dynamic environment. Our daily work is performed in an international environment, giving us the opportunity to interact with highly committed colleagues from different cultures. We trust the individual and act as a team, stay close to the product, and provide opportunities for professional and personal growth.
