R&D Operations
R&D Operations provides the tools, processes and methods to improve the operational performance of R&D. The main responsibilities within the department are to provide Configuration Management, Release Management, IT-support, to provide access to the Source Control system as well as maintaining the issue tracking system and to have Tools support. R&D Operations is also responsible for providing the build and test execution pipeline (named Continuous Delivery pipeline).
System Administrator
R&D Operations wants to strengthen the team with a third skilled system administrator. The job requires a highly organized person with good communication skills. You must also be able to adapt to the constantly changing world without losing focus on delivering quality in a fast pace environment.
The role
Take responsibility for developing and implementing complex network solutions (in both physical and virtual environments)
Implementing improvements the VMWare system (vSphere/ESX and vCloud)
Managing and improving the storage solutions
Implement and improve the Disaster Recovery solution
Implement and maintain Server Lifecycle
Troubleshoot system failures and follow up with prioritizations.
Monitor work load of the platform and proactively work against overloads
Develop, and implement work load measurements for the platform
Enable transparency of information and documentation
Provide technical support on the platform, and document the changes.
Responsible for requests of changes and the actual changes in security coherent to R&D standards.
Your Profile
Understanding of common networking components such as IPv4, Routing, Firewalls, VPN is required
Proven skills on the Microsoft platform is necessary (experience of other platforms is a plus)
Some scripting experience is required, development experience is a plus
Work experience about vCloud Directory is very valuable
Experience of VMWare (or other virtualization tools) is a plus
Strong verbal and written skills, and to have the ability to train people when needed
Teamwork skills and ability to deliever results in a fast paced environment
Structured and organized - ability to prioritize, coordinate resources and organizing
Analytical - analyzes critically and takes systematical and rational decisions upon relevant information.
Service minded - Since R&D Operations is a service organization
Ability to adjust respond to multiple demands (including unanticipated events), and prioritize and communicate accordingly
The position is based in Lund, Sweden.
