What 's in it for you?
Do you want to contribute to the next generation of plugin hybrid and fully electrical vehicles? With us you will be a part of a group Traction Battery System Design & SW Management, whose main target is to develop and maintain Traction Battery with focus on the SW.
Our software is used in both plugin hybrid vehicles and in the coming BEVs (Battery Electrical Vehicle). The software is usually developed together with a supplier who has responsibility for basic software and some software components. In a sister-group, we also develop some software components in-house.
As SWKA (Component Designer SW) you will be the main contact to the supplier and within the company for the complete SW delivery. You will act as a product manager integration and have close cooperation with function realization responsible, in-house development team and test engineers. The coming need for delivering software to multiple platforms and products will increase the complexity and thus the need for a structured way of working. You will develop your network within Volvo Cars and also with international suppliers.
Your main tasks
You will take on planning SW implementation in Function Implementation Plan, generating SW requirements, as well as performing reviews and providing documents to supplier.
Among other things you will handle software defect reports in issue management systems. You will certifying that all deliveries (binaries and documents) are available at the right level, at the right time and that they fulfil Volvo Cars standards.
Carrying out software joint reviews and following up external and internal test activities will be also one of your main tasks, as well as performing SW release.
You and your skills
You have a B.Ss. or M.Sc. degree in Electrical engineering, Mechatronics, Chemistry or other relevant filed with working experience. We believe you have theoretical knowledge and practical experience of developing software, as well as experience from development in multiple phases of a project. You possess knowledge and product development, have solid project management skills and experience from working with suppliers.
Competence in relevant tools, processes, and workflows used in Volvo Cars, such as Elektra and TeamCenter, are expected to take on this role.You have expertise and knowledge within Traction Battery in order to be able to support the development of the SW connected to the component.
You should have leading experience, coordinating a project and having a leading role, as well as being a strong team player. It is expected that you are fluent in English, written and spoken, and preferably a driving license "B" valid in Sweden.
On a personal level we are looking for a proactive and competent individual in the area of SW development. You have a genuine interest in future hybrid and electric vehicles and you are eager to be part of this transformation journey in automotive industry.
Due to your role, you will have a lot of contacts on different level, hence strong and transparent communication and leading skills is a must to succeed in this role. You are also capable of interacting in international environment.
You are a self-driven person, who takes initiatives and use the knowledge in the best way possible, while collaborating and sharing knowledge and expertise. You like to make things done and you are eager to continuously learn new things and challenge yourself in different areas.
