We have offices in Sweden, Belarus, Cambodia, Colombia, Kenya and Somalia.
Background
Forum Syd implements the Swedish-Somali Business Program (SSBP) with Business Sweden as its main partner. As a part of the Swedish Government 's Development Cooperation strategy for Somalia over 2013-2017, the ultimate goal of the SSBP is employment creation and increase of income for those economically active in Somalia, contributing to livelihood improvement and human security across the country with a focus on young people 18-35 years, and with a particular focus on women in this age group.
Forum Syd is now looking for an SSBP Program Officer for our office in Stockholm, Sweden. This is a temporary position for one year, with the possibility of an extension, starting as soon as possible. Schedule is full time. The position may include international travel.
Areas of responsibility
• Handle sub-granting and grants management
• Support to grantees and their partners on how to implement their respective business-projects with a rights-based perspective
• Participate in the development and implementation of the Capacity Development Facility
• Plan and implement program-related workshops and activities
• Conduct monthly risk assessments and context-analysis updates
• Monitor and analyze the various business markets related to the SSBP
• Develop narrative and financial reports in relation to the program results matrix
• Conduct follow-up in relation the program-activities in Somalia and Sweden
• Ensure information sharing and other communication through the SSBP webpage
• Handle project administration and reporting
• Take on other tasks related to the work in Hub Multi-Regional, as requested by the SSBP Team Coordinator and/or the Head of Hub Multi-Regional.
Qualifications required
• Excellent knowledge of business-plan assessment and development
• Strong ability to develop and implement training programmes, workshops and other capacity building activities
• Very good contextual knowledge in socio-political and economical areas of Somalia
• Good knowledge of private sector/business development and rights based approach including Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) and social entrepreneurship
• Experience working for a civil society organization
• Practical experience and knowledge of planning, monitoring and evaluation (such as LFA, RBM and Outcome Mapping)
• Practical experience of risk assessments and context analysis
• Excellent knowledge of spoken and written Swedish and English
• Knowledge of financing, accounting and audit
• Good ability to combine strategy with operational work and perform qualified analyses
• Relevant academic degree or equivalent qualifications obtained in another way
• Experience of international fieldwork is an advantage
