SW System Design Engineer, Protective Safety

The section Safety Electronics is a section within Safety Electronics and Functions, consisting of approximately 70 employees organised into the four groups of Preventive Safety, Protective Safety, Supportive Safety and Sensor Fusion. Within the section we develop systems for Collision Avoidance, Autonomous Drive, Parking Assistance, Driver Support and Protective Safety.

As System Design Engineer within the Protective Safety group, you will be working to provide the occupants in the car protection in crash situations. Electronic sensors and ECUs detect, determine and activate different devices i.e. bags and belts. You will define and set requirements on SW and HW components within the system, in collaboration with component designers. All in accordance with legal requirements function realisation and assure that demands from attribute areas are met. You will assure that technical documents are available at the right level and in time according to plans. You are responsible for the dialogue with suppliers and generate, deliver and review system requirements to them.

By participating in developing the technology strategy within the area of competence, you will contribute to the build-up of experience within the section. We are looking for a committed, passionate Engineer who wants to participate in developing and maintaining our systems for today and tomorrow.

Main responsibilities

• Deliver and secure the functional implementation plan of the ECU
• Develop and release SW requirements to the supplier and review their documentation
• Specify SW definitions in used tools
• Review verification methods and tool development, and support when needed

Required qualifications

• M.Sc. in electronic engineering
• Experience from the automotive industry
• Experience from electronics and software development
• Drivers license B (Car)
• Fluent in English, spoken and written
• Great interest in working with automotive safety and advanced electronic protective systems

Personal qualities

• Communicative with a positive attitude
• Self driven with a good decision-making ability
• High level of energy with good pedagogical and argumentation skills
• Analytical and structured
