At Volvo Cars, we have an Agile Organization where we develop our product features and functions continuously in Product Streams with a complete lifecycle responsibility. The three Product Streams within the unit Vehicle Software&Electronics are:
* In-Car Digital - Infotainment, Digital User Experience, Connectivity
* Base Software - Electrical and Electronics Systems
* Autonomous Drive - Active Safety and autonomous drive functions
Software Developer
Active Safety is an area where Volvo, through continuous launching of new and innovative safety features, has positioned itself among the leaders of the automotive industry. Now the work continues to reach our ambitious vision that by 2020 no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo. Within the department, we develop systems such as Collision Avoidance, Autonomous Drive, Driver Support and Protective Safety. To do this we use sensor systems based technologies such as Radar, Laser, Ultrasonic, Cameras and Accelerometers. Through Sensor Fusion, these sensors are combined to create an awareness of the vehicle surroundings that can be used by various Driver Assist and Safety Functions to support the driver.
We are involved in all aspects of the product development process, from early research and advanced engineering projects to industrialisation and follow up from the customer. As software responsible, you will together with other others handle SW issues for our new and existing systems. It 's a close collaboration together with function- and system owners and our suppliers, both external and internal. Main work is to establish breakdown requirements and communicate our needs to the supplier and to secure deliveries to our projects and cars in time. To be able to handle new functional growth in the future we need to establish a new way of working with short SW loops. You will be responsible to develop these new working methods together with the verification team and our suppliers. You will also be responsible to develop new test methods together with our verification team to secure our SW delivery. The work include a lot of co-operation with other members within the organisation and close collaboration with Zenuity and our supplier and this puts high demands of good teamwork. It also include a lot of administrative work and process developing for the SW role itself.

Required qualifications
BSc in engineering
Working experience from SW specification within the automotive industry or equal
Working experience from system engineering or related components/systems work
Driver's license B (car)
Fluent in Swedish and English
Meritorious qualifications
Experience from embedded system including HW- and SW-development
Good knowledge in Volvo system and AutoSAR
Managing suppliers in an international environment
Software development in complex embedded systems
Working in requirement management tools such as System viewer, Elektra, Doors or equal
Working with Base Technologies (SW download, Diagnostics, Network Management etc.)

Location for this position is within Gothenburg, Sweden from where we expect you are able to work with adequate working permits. Working proficiency in the English language, speech and writing, is a requirement. Combined with the same skills in the Swedish language is considered a merit.
