Volvo Construction Equipment AB Component Division has the responsibility for development and manufacturing of driveline components to Volvo’s construction equipment. Development of electronic systems is also a part of the responsibility. Component Division has app. 1 200 employees. The business is located to Eskilstuna, but manufacturing is also performed in co-operation with other companies in different places.
SW Application Engineer, Electronic System
The SW Application Development department develops machine functionality for a large variety of products within Volvo CE, e.g. Haulers, Loaders, Graders and Excavators. It is one of seven departments that together deliver complete electronic systems to the machines. Although the competences are divided in different departments almost all work is carried out in cross-functional project teams.
The greatest challenge ahead is to integrate new products within Volvo CE in an efficient way and adapt them to the existing system platforms.
Job description:
As a SW Application engineer you will work with development of machine functionality including SW design and testing. The requirements are written in close cooperation with our customers and the development is carried out in a model based environment. Most of the software is written in C, however other model based tools like MATLAB/Simulink is also used. The SW modules are tested in a simulated PC environment before they are integrated and tested as a complete system.
Qualifications:
Master or Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering / Computer Science or similar
Experience of developing SW for embedded systems
Experience in writing C/C++
Experience of model based design
Knowledge of requirement management and documentation of SW
Knowledge of reuse of SW components
Knowledge of electronic systems in VCE products is a qualifier.
Since we are cooperating with companies globally you must be comfortable in English both written and oral.
