Research consultant on biodiversity in the context of agriculture
Investigate impacts that agriculture in various locations has on the biodiversity
Suggest context-specific measures, including but not limited to climate smart practices, sustainable agriculture and agroecology, to mitigate or avoid (where possible) the negative impact of agriculture on biodiversity while optimizing agricultural outputs.
Investigate conditions for maximising biodiversity for a given agriculture output, e.g. pesticides/no pesticides, total area needed, geometrics consideration for farming (strip farming etc).
Assist in organizing sampling of insects for DNA analyses with aim of looking on speciation process for rapid ration events.

Requirements:
PhD in the relevant subject.
Five years of relevant experience in the context of biodiversity conservation for sustainable agricultural transitions, and in agro-diversity.
Strong research experience on the themes of agroecology, sustainable and climate-smart agriculture.
Previous experience working in several regions/countries preferred.
Working knowledge of English, French and Russian
