Job Mission
To lead and develop Piab's sustainability agenda across the Group, ensuring compliance with evolving ESG regulations and translating sustainability into concrete value creation for the business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sustainability Strategy and Execution
Develop and maintain Piab's sustainability strategy, goals, and KPIs in line with the overall corporate strategy.
Monitor emerging sustainability/ESG regulations and standards (e.g. CSRD, EU taxonomy, climate-related disclosures) and translate them into practical internal requirements, processes, and guidelines.
Prepare and present sustainability updates, analyses, risk/opportunity assessments, and recommendations to the management team and the Board.
Drive cross-functional sustainability initiatives that deliver measurable environmental and business benefits.
Ensure alignment of divisional and functional sustainability activities with Group objectives.

2. Business Integration and Value Creation
Own Piab's climate roadmap, including baseline definition, target setting (e.g. near- and long-term climate targets) and the planning and follow-up of reduction initiatives.
Drive programs to reduce carbon emissions, energy consumption, and waste across operations, logistics, and facilities, in close collaboration with Operations, Supply Chain, and local site teams.
Support product management and R&D in integrating eco-design, life cycle thinking, and circularity principles into product development and portfolio management.
Support initiatives for responsible sourcing of materials and components together with Procurement and Supply Chain, including supplier assessments and engagement on ESG topics.
Identify and support business opportunities where sustainability can drive customer value, differentiation, and growth.

3. Governance, Compliance and Reporting
Establish and maintain ESG governance structures, policies, and guidelines across the organization.
Coordinate and improve Piab's annual sustainability reporting together with the relevant functions and divisions, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and frameworks.
Secure high data quality, internal controls, and clear responsibilities for ESG metrics and KPIs.
Manage responses to external ESG ratings, rankings, and customer sustainability questionnaires, ensuring consistent and accurate information.
Act as an internal expert on sustainability/ESG, providing training and guidance to functions and sites as needed.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
University degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science/Engineering, or a related field.
Several years' experience (typically 5+ years) working with sustainability/ESG in an industrial, manufacturing, or technology company, or as a consultant to these sectors.
Demonstrated experience in ESG reporting and regulatory compliance (e.g. CSRD, taxonomy, climate-related reporting).
Proven track record of driving cross-functional sustainability initiatives that deliver measurable results.
Experience with climate-related work, including target setting, scenario analysis, and decarbonization or reduction roadmaps.
Experience from global organizations and working in an international, cross-cultural context.

Skills and Capabilities
Strong understanding of key sustainability topics relevant to industrial automation/manufacturing (e.g. climate, energy efficiency, resource efficiency, circularity, responsible sourcing).
Solid analytical skills and ability to work with quantitative ESG data, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken; Swedish or other languages are an advantage.
Ability to translate complex regulatory and technical requirements into clear, practical guidance for non-experts.
Comfortable presenting to and influencing senior leadership, external stakeholders, and customers.
Structured, proactive, and hands-on, with the ability to move from strategy to implementation and follow-up.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build networks and drive change in a decentralized organization.

Experience and Education (for template section)
University degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science/Engineering, or related field.
5+ years' experience in sustainability/ESG in industrial, manufacturing, or technology sectors, or consulting to these sectors.
Documented experience in ESG reporting and regulatory compliance.
Proven experience in climate-related work (target setting, reduction roadmaps).
Experience from global organizations and international stakeholder environments.
