Surface Material Engineer - Textile Engineer
Altran Sweden AB is now looking to strengthen our Surface Material team!
Altran is today a strong development partner for our customer within Surface Material and wants to find you, an expert in textile technology!
In this position, you will work cross functionally with different people, culture and stakeholders to define value to our customers.
You should drive your development within your area, and have high interest in both color- and textile development and their characteristics.
We believe that you have a strong independency within your expertize area, yet be able to work cross functionally.
About the job
As a Surface material Engineer (Textile engineer), you are responsible for bringing in all technical aspects into the product development cycle with focus on the surface materials properties.
• Have an understanding (work experiences) for the product development projects from a technical perspective throughout the total value chain
• Developing fabric constructions along all technical aspects: yarn parameters, loom set-up, and weave design specifications
• Translating aesthetic needs to technical values and executing fabric development briefs based on set parameters
• Be well organized and get inspired of working in a high exposed area.
Main responsibilities
• Understanding of product design feature and be able to translate into requirements and measurable variables
• Support our customers with technical expertise within the given area.
• Have customer focus and driven to deliver to our customers best interest.
• Drive technology within your area.
• Making and keeping time plans of the deliveries
Required Qualifications
• University Degree within Materials Technology or Textile Engineering, and/or equivalent work experience
• A good color sight/vision - will be tested
• Color and design focus interest
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Knowledge and expertise within color development
• Driver's License (B)

• Very good communication and cooperation skills
• Structured and well planned
• Interested in new areas of color, light and appearance

Qualifications
To be successful in this role we see that you have a Textile Engineering background with experience working with textile development and/or manufacturing. You are determined and driven by innovation with a problem solving approach built on curiosity, courage to try finding new solutions and exploring the unknown. You have the capability to build strong relations with stakeholders.
• You are passionate about creating the best technical solutions for the customer.
• Excellent understanding of fabric development from a technical aspect
• In-depth knowledge of textile production
• Knowledge of fiber, yarn spinning, weaving, dyeing, printing, finishing processes and washing techniques
• Project technical knowledge (i.e requirements, market, customer, technical solutions)
• Supply Chain knowledge - cost drivers, handling of goods, raw materials
• Knowledge and understanding of project management methodology (e.g. time, task, resource planning, cost estimation and KPI follow up)
• Sustainable materials, properties and processes
