As a surface chemist at LingVitae you will develop and optimize coupling schemes for biomolecules (DNA) to solid surfaces. This will include development of basic surface modification, selection of basic coupling schemes, selection of materials & chemicals, optimization of reaction conditions and analysis of results. Furthermore you will develop methods for prevention of coupling or adsorption of biomolecules on unspecific surfaces.
The position also involves developing and optimizing methods for chemical analysis of solid surfaces, with and without coupled biomolecules. In addition you will prepare Biorecords withing a certain project.
The suitable candidate will have experience from coupling biomolecues, preferably nucleic acids, to solid surfaces. Experience or competence within inorganic chemistry, process chemistry, micromechanics and/or microfluidics is an advantage. The applicant should have a PhD within organic chemistry or other relevant field. Fluency in English, both written and spoken is a requirement, fluency in Swedish or Norwegian is an advantage. The qualified candidate will also be creative and able to formulate problems and find innovative solutions within coupling chemistry.
