Our product range includes tools for simplifying the work at TV stations, which means digitizing material, managing the media, video editing, transcoding between different media formats and archiving. We are now expanding our media management support team in the Stockholm office, to meet the demand from the constantly growing number of customers. The media management support team consists of one Support Manager and one Support Coach. In addition, 35 people from the R&D and Professional Services organization are scheduled for support on a 24-7 rotating schedule providing 2nd and 3rd line support to customers and partners worldwide. We are seeking a skilled Support Engineer to join our young and creative support team in Stockholm working with support on a day time basis.
As a Support Engineer you will be providing technical assistance and remote troubleshooting support as part of a global 24-7 support organization. Your work will include responding to user’s requests for information and assist in problem resolution via email and phone and take or initiate corrective action to resolve operational and production problems. You should also ensure that support requirements, issues and actions are communicated in a flexible and adaptable manner depending on situation. The work also includes developing and maintaining a support knowledge base. During release test periods, you will also be involved in test execution and configuring of test environments.
To be eligible you should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent, and have relevant experience of system development or system administration. You should enjoy working close to customers and with short time limits. Because of our international market, a client oriented attitude and good communication skills in English are important. Any additional language skills are considered merited.
Skills required for this position:
• Installation and maintenance of UNIX/Linux systems and storage systems.
• Software development and scripting in a UNIX/Linux environment.
• Knowledge about technologies such as SQL, XML, SOAP, Distributed systems, etc.
• Ability to interpret customer requirements and a positive attitude towards dealing with users under stress with varying skill levels.
• Follow-through and problem solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Relevant experience of system administration.
• Comfortable in technically complex environments.
• Excellent communications skills. Fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
Experiences of TSM, DB2 or Oracle are meriting. Additional languages are also meriting, as is knowledge about digital media
