Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey to redefine what it means to own a vehicle during one of most innovative times in the transport industry. Volvo Cars is looking to redefine all aspects of the car ecosystem including ownership, autonomous driving, vehicle electrification, sustainability and online shopping. We are now seeking a Support Engineer to join us!
At Global Technical Support, you are part of a global team with the purpose to safeguard that our consumers continuously have the freedom to move, by providing preventative & precise support for our mobility solutions. Our mission is to provide customers with solutions for their problems by acting preventatively, at high speed with maximum precision.
What's in it for you?
Is this a workweek you find exciting?
* Talking to colleagues in China regarding how to fault trace a car with hybrid drivability symptoms.
* Partners in Italy ping you to connect to a retailer workshop to assist with software download.
* Join colleagues at R&D to have a meeting regarding next steps for a Battery Electric Vehicle.
* Handle cases with different technical questions, important with correct, swift and timely response as we help workshops to repair the cars for our customers.
* You present a PowerPoint slide show at one of our Tips & Trix sessions with the global tech support community over TEAMS, about a wire to a solve a stuck solenoid on a transmission and about a workaround for a newly identified symptom for the connectivity in the car.
* You are setting up logging equipment and send to a car in a workshop in South Africa.
* Plane tickets are booked and next week you go to our Technical Helpdesk Colleagues in Brussels and you bring your normal work with you but change office to exchange ideas "over the desk" and visit a car with a strange symptom in a local workshop.
* For the next coming car models, there is new technology on its way for Autonomous Drive and you are self-driven and establish contacts with the development team to get knowledge on how it is supposed to work that you later share with the support community.
As a Support Engineer, you are the interface between markets, Current Model Quality, and other problem-solving functions within Volvo Cars. You will be a key in our continuous change in finding solutions to problems and get our products repaired and back in customer hands, and all workweeks will be different.
You and your skills
You are a true team player who collaborates across teams, levels, and locations, as interacting and balancing internal stakeholders is a part of every workday. We believe you are curious, good at networking and making contacts, which is necessary in this position to solve problems. You are a self starter that thrives in a fast-paced environment. You are also a person with high integrity that feel comfortable to stand up for your findings in a way that creates trust.
We believe you have 1-2 years of analytical work experience, after your university graduation in a technical field of engineering. As you will communicate with stakeholders globally, it is very important to have solid spoken and written English skills, as well as strong presentation skills. Most of all, we believe you are strongly passionate about the technical side of our cars, with the end-customer in focus and pushing our innovation forward.
After-market experience is meritorious, as well as experience from Electric Vehicle, Hybrid, Autonomous Drive & Connectivity technical experience.
Where you'll be
You will be based at Volvo Cars' global headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.
