Inbound & Outbound Operations with in SQL assures that all transport is designed, established, executed and optimized, cost efficiently and with exact precision, to and from the entire Volvo Cars organization.
Inbound & Outbound Logistics is a newly created organization and is now recruiting two Carrier Mangers.

Carrier Management is responsible for managing and continuously improving the transport performance of inbound material to the Cars sites and vehicles delivered to dealers/ distribution terminals globally.
The role, Carrier Manager, is located and in Goteborg, Sweden and will report to the Manager of Operational Development The role
Main responsibilities:
CM manages carriers for the inbound and outbound transportation set up.
CM monitor, analyze systematically carrier/forwarder performance, from material supplier through the plant to dealer, via reporting tools and continuous dialogue and where applicable look to make changes to carrier base.
CM works for continuous improvement together Stakeholders. Deviations are followed up and activities set to improve performance. Additionally CM supports in identifying new business opportunities e.g. analysis of impact on budget as well as support improved customer satisfaction.
A key ability is to be able to explain and drive the Companys processes and rules to logistic providers for their understanding AND understand transporter needs to improve shared result. CM drives and implements process improvements where required together with the operations team.
CM communicates regularly with internal stakeholders as well as all carriers/forwarders to ensure processes and procedures are followed and to address concerns or issues and report feedback regarding process improvements. CM builds and maintains strong relationships with the carriers/forwarders and internal stakeholders and lead activities to implement process changes with stakeholders and carriers/forwarders as appointed. CM chair meetings with the Carriers
CM should also act as interface and point of escalation between Carriers, the company and other stakeholders.
Required qualifications:
• Supply Chain management knowledge including car distribution
• Knowledge of carriers operations
• Academic degree in logistics or equivalent.
• Statistic data management
• Ability to operate in details in IT systems TMS (transport management systems)
• English (spoken and written)
Personal qualities:
• High level of analytical skill
• Drive actions to resolution
• Good communication and leadership skills
• Ability to quickly assess complex situations
• Service minded
