This position is based within Thermo Fisher Scientific's ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD), which has its HQ in Uppsala, Sweden and develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy, asthma and autoimmune diseases. With 1,600 employees worldwide, IDD is the global leader in in-vitro allergy testing and also the European leader in autoimmunity diagnostics.
You will be joining IDD's Global Sourcing team of eight people located in Uppsala, Helsingborg and Freiburg.
THE ROLE will focus on supplier quality. Your responsibilities will include:
• Using Statistical Process Control (SPC), Advanced Quality Process (AQP) tools to proactively identify and drive improvements to the Supplier Quality, Production and Processes
• Promote and use continuous improvement techniques (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) at Suppliers to help them reduce variability, achieve better process control and create productivity improvements.
• Train Suppliers to effectively execute Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and Corrective Actions Preventive Actions (CAPA)
• Initiate and follow-up Supplier Corrective Actions (SCAR) in partnership with Manufacturing Engineering, Service and R&D to ensure complete and effective root cause analysis
• Ownership for the supplier quality metrics
• Assess supplier capability and secure capacity plans
• Perform periodic process audits at key suppliers as well as systems audits for the purpose of assuring continued Supplier conformance to the quality system requirements and to our specifications.
To be successful in this role a Bachelor's degree in Engineering is the minimum requirement and you will ideally have several years of experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer. You must be able to speak and write English fluently. We are looking for someone with experience from supplier audits, a large international company environment and preferably Life Science industry.
It is an advantage if you are a certified lead auditor and trained in Lean and/or Six Sigma.
The role will suit someone who enjoys working independently, takes initiative, is analytical and has strong social -and communication skills.
Thermo Fisher Scientific is an international, matrix organisation so you should be comfortable working cross-functionally, managing a wide range of priorities and working in an ever-changing environment. This position requires international travel of up to 20 %.
