hela Sverige 1. POSITION CONTENT AND REPORTING RELATIONSHIP(S):
The Business Control department within GTO Purchasing is responsible for analysis and reporting, internal control and financial audits, cost management and financial risk evaluation of external suppliers. This position supports the financial risk evaluation.
This position will be based in Gothenburg and reports to the Global Supplier Financial Risk Director.
2. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interface with buyers and suppliers in collecting and validating financial data from suppliers.
• Ensure Volvo receives timely information which is entered into the VSIB Financial Scorecard system, in close co-operation with the Purchasing Support Centre, Bangalore/India.
• Work proactively with risk detection and early warning signals in close cooperation with buyers, to mitigate potential risks for production disturbances due to suppliers? financial distress.
• Participate in supplier meetings and take a lead role in evaluating supplier's financial health and its potential risk impacts for Volvo.
• Draw conclusions from financial and other supplier data, suggest risk level and propose further investigations/actions.
• Actively participate in risk management meetings through selection of cases to highlight and reporting on specific cases as needed.
• Monitor and track yearly financial updates on regular and selected project suppliers as defined together with the Supplier Financial Risk Director.
• Perform specific follow-up of risky suppliers as needed.
• Participate actively in the sourcing process by providing financial analysis and recommendations to sourcing buyers ahead of Sourcing Committees.
• Cooperate closely with the network of supplier financial risk analysts based in the other Continents.
• Always work towards improving risk modelling, data analysis and ways of working.
3. RESULTS AND DELIVERABLES:
• Up-to-date financial risk scores (measured by KPIs) and assessed risk levels.
• Thorough analyses and adequate reporting on financially risky suppliers.
4. PRIMARY CONTACTS, BOTH WITHIN AND OUTSIDE ORGANIZATION:
• GTO Purchasing: Supplier Host/ Sourcing Buyers, Operations Buyers, Project Buyers, Financial Analysts, Supplier Financial Risk Manager, Purchasing Support Centre, Operations Directors, Supplier Delivery Assurance, Supplier Development Workshop, Sourcing Directors, Supply Base Management.
• External: Finance departments at Suppliers (CFOs, Controllers, Key Account Mgrs etc.)
5. EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• BA degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 3 years of experience from similar position, preferably from a Purchasing background.
• Excellent knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
• Good computer skills (MS Office software programs)
6. KEY SKILLS AND TARGET LEVELS:
• Excellent analytical skills combined with good business understanding. Ability to assess overall risk combining supplier financial data, ownership structure, market intelligence, bankruptcy regulation, Volvo business risk etc.
• Problem-solving abilities and good understanding of the Purchasing activity in commercial vehicle industry and business analyses.
