JOB DESCRIPTION:
The warehouse supervisor will be responsible for coaching, motivating, and leading the warehouse employees to accomplish the productivity goals for the day and establishing a culture of positive employee relations while ensuring all processes, best practices, and policies are adhered to consistently. The warehouse supervisor will be responsible for 5-7 FTE. This role will require the warehouse supervisor to create a climate in which people want to do their best; empowers others; invites input from each person; makes each individual feel his/her work is important; is someone people like working for and with.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Local - One location (Solna)
Available on phone for Supervision/questions/directions
Provides daily direction and leadership to the staging department.
Delegating and assigning tasks and targets and evaluating the working of the staff.
Engaged with logistics projects as determined by logistics manager.
Lead and/or participate in Kaizen events as requested.
Expected to fully implement all applicable DBS tools.
Support SAP accuracy
Warehouse representative at daily production QDIPs.
Conducts regular one on one and helps drafts performance objectives and development plans (P4G/D4G)
Accountable for the safe operation of all equipment, including forklifts, hand tools, and other equipment in the operation.
Ensures all staff is trained properly to operate warehouse equipment.
Accountable for training, motivation and leadership.
Ensures that orders staged are verified against pertinent documentation.
Establishes and maintains procedures for determining and meeting company and customer delivery commitments by handling materials, providing labor, and effective use of time.
Recommends and assists in implementing operating procedures and promotes continual improvement within the staging department.
Responsible for researching missed or late staged orders.
Responsible to inform next shift Supervisor regarding the any important information or prioritizations next shift need to know
Responsible to escalate if an expected inbound delivery is late outside normal Inbound office hours
Staging Errors: Responsible for researching and identifying root cause.
Follows staging methods for material using the proper SOP and takes ownership of process documentation creation, changes and periodic review.
Accountable for ensuring the warehouse and staging areas is audit ready 24x7. Readily takes action to implement effective countermeasures and monitor sustainment of audit findings.
Accountable for ensuring the warehouse and staging areas is 5S ready 24x7 and promotes 5S activities to sustain warehouse organization and safety.
Warehouse supervisor will immediately document and report to the Staging Manager any situation, incident or problems that directly relate to the efficient, complete, and timely dispatch of any and all assigned work.
Will ensure all staging personnel are aware of their job duties and will be cross trained as needed.
At all times, warehouse supervisor will promote a cooperative/teamwork atmosphere toward all employees.
Must report all accidents and near misses to the Staging Manager, Intra site logistics manager and logistics director and Incident board in a timely and efficient manner.
Create an efficient "vacation" plan for own unit, in collaboration with staging manager and intra site logistics manager.
Manage/certify time reports, leave applications in Cepheid AB's time system "Kontek"
Assure daily visual management meetings (QDIP) occur with assigned logistics associates.
Keeps open and productive communication with planning and manufacturing teams
Regularly appraises manager regarding KPI progress.
Works closely with inventory manager to assure inventory accuracy
Understands and anticipates needs of manufacturing and production control. Regularly communicate status of logistics support to both teams.DESIRED SKILLS:
Knowledge of the safety and legal documentation processes for handling related warehouse activities (MSDS, Equipment checklist, BOL).
Certified, or ability to be certified on all forklift equipment.
Working and understanding of WMS system.
Good leadership and administration skills and abilities.
Strong motivational skills and effectual team building and decision making.
Ability to effectively manage time, resolve crisis and decision making.
Ability to efficiently coordinate workings with internal and external workers of the company.
Demonstrates a commitment to doing it "the right way" with a high level of attention to details and high personal standards of performance.
Swedish citizen and 5 years work documentation for Known consignor application (Känd Avsändare)
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills required
Knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and SAP required.
Knowledge of and experience with warehouse functions.
