Kollmorgen is a global company which develops motion control and Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems and works with customers in many different industries all over the world. Our target is to provide world leading technology for the rapidly growing market of AGVs and Mobile Robots.
We are offering summer job for 6-8 weeks that will start first or second week in June. You will work together with one of our development teams. For us it is important that your task is relevant for your education, that you will learn new things, develop yourself and of course we want you to have fun.
Brief description about the ART team
The ART (automatic regression test) team consists of four people that are responsible for software quality assurance by implementing, maintaining, and providing tools for testing. The development environment is Python.
Task
Which of the following task or tasks that will be chosen is discussed and decided together with you and depends on your interests and knowledge.
Task 1
Frontend design to simplify searching in our resource database. This database is mainly used when trouble-shooting the software and hardware in the test framework. For or example, settings that limits time span of the search.
• Required skills: We are looking for someone with high interest in front-end development. Python and database knowledge is required (SQLite and/or MongoDB).
Task 2
GUI for simplifying searching in the database where test results are stored. Then, present the query together with search result. After that the user should be able to modify the query and make new searches based on the modified query.
• Required skills: Well-versed in HTML, CSS & JS, Flask. Python knowledge is mandatory. Database knowledge is meritorious (SQLite and/or MongoDB).
Task 3
Proof of concept to substitute Sikulix, our current tool for GUI testing. Sikulix has some drawbacks that other tools maybe do not suffer from.
• Required skills: Python knowledge is mandatory.
What educations are applicable?
• We are looking for bachelor students who are in their second year (BSc) & master students (MSc) who studies year 3 or 4.
• You are studying Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar
In addition, you are fluent in English both spoken and written.

Our office is located near Sisjön, during our lunches you will have the opportunity to go for a run or a swim in the summer. We have flexible working hours, and we also have a gym that is free to use for all employees and on Mondays and Thursdays we have a common gym-workout.
Every student who has been up late to study for an exam know how important coffee is , we offer you good fair-trade coffee with fresh milk! If you don 't like coffee, we have tea and always fresh fruit if you get hungry.
