www.swedishschool.org.uk.We are looking for two subject teachers who will also be mentors. The offered teaching positions are full-time and will commence on Friday, 18 August 2023. Any employment with the school will start with a probation period of one academic year which will extend to a fixed-term contract, a total of three years of employment.
Individual salary structure.
Following the UK's exit from the European Union, any non-British citizen must prove their right to live and work in the UK. If required, the Swedish School in London will sponsor and support the successful candidate in applying for a three-year work visa (paid by the school).
We offer a travelling and moving allowance for candidates hired from outside the United Kingdom. We can also provide information about the move to the United Kingdom.
ArbetsuppgifterThe successful candidates will meet the criteria below. Emphasis will also be put on the candidates' personal traits as we are keen to find the right staff members to join our team of engaged teachers.
Position 1 ("SO Teacher"):
Subject teacher for years 4 to 9 in at least three of the following subjects: Civics, Geography, History or Religious Studies.
Position 2 ("NO and Maths Teacher"):
Subject teacher for years 4 to 9 in at least two Science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics), as well as Technology and/or Mathematics.
ProfilEssential:
• Position 1: Swedish teacher qualification in at least three out of the four humanities subjects for years 4 to 9.
• Position 2: Swedish teacher qualification in at least two out of the three Science subjects for years 4 to 9, and Mathematics for years 4-6 or years 7-9.
• Student-centred approach and being able to forge positive relationships with pupils to encourage pupils' participation and learning.
• Be a confident and effective classroom teacher, sensitive to pupil needs and have high expectations of what pupils can achieve.
• Have the ability to use formative and summative assessments to provide pupils with ample feedback about their learning and progress.
• Have the ability to individualise your teaching to engage and motivate pupils to develop and stretch within your subject(s).
• Be a flexible team player with good communication skills who takes the initiative, and shares knowledge and skills with colleagues.
• Fluent in Swedish and proficient in English.
Desirable:
• Other subject qualifications in addition to the ones mentioned above.
• Experience in working with and supporting pupils with special needs.
• Experience using ICT in a school setting and pre-existing experience with SchoolSoft and Google Classroom is extra desirable.
• The existing right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
