King is looking for an exceptionally skilled Game Design Director to drive excellence in game design across our studio in Stockholm. You will be part of a highly experienced and successful team, so you need to be a very talented designer and a great team player with great coaching skills. You will work closely with our Head of Studio to continuously improve the quality and efficiency of our Creative capabilities. You will also work actively in the games produced by the studio to help reach the high bar for game play we aim to hit.

You are passionate about games and able to work in a flexible and fluid environment where the job will evolve over time. You are the go-to expert in your discipline and partner with the Head of Studio on all matters relating to Game Creative content and the Studio Design excellence.
Core People and Leadership Skills
• Ensure we bring the best user experience and game play to everything we deliver across the studio
• Responsible for Design Leadership for the studio, making sure the studio adopts the best fit style and drive the right choices relating to all things Design
• Able to bring experience to the table to help drive initial decisions on design and prototype and to offer insight and solutions to add winning ingredient to games
• Responsible for overseeing all Design hiring, training, development & design resource allocation
• Responsible for leading and coaching the Studio Game and Level Designers to ensure their outputs consistently match the high quality game experience aims for the game
• Responsible for working with Learning department and peers from other studios to address training and development requirements within your Game Design team
• Coordinate with the Global Game Design Director to ensure cross studio collaboration both for Design and Resource requirements
• Consider the long term and represent the studio?s Design needs within all King Design forums and groups
Technical Skills
• Track record taking games all the way from concept development through to delivery.
• You will have released several games
• You have experience designing social and free-to-play games and game reward systems
• You're skilled at creating and communicate game concepts and specifications to a team
• You are familiar with psychological models concerning motivation and didactic and therefore able to create extraordinary experiences for the player
• You know and use scripting languages
• You are capable of balancing complex game-systems
• You understand the importance of well documented designs and technical features
• A detailed knowledge of the games market and current consumer expectations
• Good communication and organizational skills, preferably experience from working in an agile project environment
