Scania 's department for Product & Interaction design (RCD) performs a central role in the creation and communication of Scania 's transformation towards driving the shift. By defining the product expression and customer experience, we keep the current platform up to date, whilst also staking out the future for our vehicles and services.

With a broad portfolio of projects in relation to a more sustainable and digital future, we are now expanding and looking for a studio engineer in the team Surface and Design Quality (RCDD).

Your role

As a studio engineer you will be the link between the design studio and the engineering departments. It's a highly communicative role, where you will focus on finding the best solution, combining high level technical feasibility with ensuring the defined product expression.

You will work in close cooperation with surface designers and industrial designers. You will also have daily contact with a broad range of other competences outside the design studio, such as mechanical design engineers, suppliers and simulation experts.

You will be in the centre of the development process, gathering knowledge and information to be communicated to your closest co-workers in order to create surface models fulfilling all demands.

Your profile

Requirements

We're looking for someone who is communicative, solution focused and able of seeing things from many perspectives. You need to be open for trying new things and finding the best solution, but at the same time, don't be afraid to speak your mind and set clear boundaries.

• Previous experience within mechanical design, preferably at least 5 years. Experience from working in plastic design is beneficial.
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in mechanical design, industrial design engineering, product development or similar
• Experience in industrial/automotive design
• Good knowledge and experience of use of CAD-systems, CATIA is required. Knowledge in Autodesk Alias or ICEM surf is beneficiary.
• Fluent in English

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in working with China
• Experience with working with displays and interaction components (touch-screens, buttons etc)
• Knowledge in German or Chinese is beneficiary
• Experience from project management
