We are looking for a Student Assistant to join our team focusing on Y6-9
> 1 full-time Admin position. The position is a fixed term position of 55%.
Opportunity to work in our after-school care in the afternoons to extend the position to a full time position.
In the role of Student Assistant, you will be working to help a student who, for various reasons, needs support to keep up with lessons and other school activities. The aim of the work is to help the student to achieve as much as possible, and on his/her own merits, to develop in accordance with the educational objectives. Together with teachers and other staff at the school, you will work to create a stimulating, meaningful and positive environment for the student.
The work is diverse. You may help the student to find peace in his or her studies or assist in finding individual solutions to enable the student to assimilate knowledge. It may also involve practicing everyday tasks, supporting the student in various activities at breaks, in changing rooms, at mealtimes or on outings, etc.
You will liaise with the teacher and other staff on how the work is to be carried out. Your role will involve close contact and collaboration with other staff within the school.
Your communication with the student will mainly be in English so it is important that you can speak English fluently.
Qualifications
• Appropriate education is meritorious
• You have experience of having worked as a student assistant
• You have experience of low affective treatment
• You have knowledge of and share the International English School's values and Ethos*
• You are patient and flexible
