The department for Virtual Product Development is a global organization that is involved in the development of all machines, its systems and components within Volvo Construction Equipment. The organization is young and modern ways of working are implemented. New methods are introduced the product development process in order to meet the demands on our organization, i e being a market leader today and securing future leadership. The challenges in the close future involve even more support and drive of the development of world leading construction equipment and its components. Our work is conducted in a top modern development environment where virtual simulation methods will be utilized an even in larger extent than today. The speed of its introduction is limited by the rate of verification of those new methods.
The major tasks are:
Define loads (static extreme loads and fatigue loads in the time- or frequency domain) and other input for stress analysis.
Conduct stress analyses in different types of projects regarding strength, stiffness, vibration or fatigue life of machines, systems and components.
Coordinate stress analysis activities in product development project.
Participate in the development of new processes and methods for virtual product development.
Desired qualifications:
We aim to employ a highly motivated engineer with at least Master degree with special knowledge in stress analysis or similar topic. 3-5 years of experience of stress analysis and design is a prime qualifier. The possibility for personal development within the company is very good. Your personality should be both structured and flexible, and you should enjoy performing tasks on your own when needed and in a team when that is required. You should be outgoing and good with communication. It is important that you have a strong drive and ability to make things happen to reach the objectives, you have analytical skills and you find it exciting to solve technical issues. It is further important that you can see the whole picture and that you have a good ability to act across functional borders. The contacts are international, so it?s important to be able to speak, read and write English on a high level.
