We are a newly started and well-funded SaaS startup based in Stockholm, and are actively building on our product with beta users live in the platform. The co-founders have built successful companies and are a mix of veterans and entrepreneurs in e-comm, data science, and growth.
About the role
We are seeking a mid level Data Streaming Engineer to join our team and help us develop and maintain our streaming technologies at Dema. The ideal candidate will have experience in building streaming applications Apache Flink or Kafka Streams , deploying and maintaining these applications, and take joint ownership of our codebase.
What you'll do
• Development and maintain Dema's streaming application, our real time event processing application.
• Collaborate with the rest of our Data team to improve the code, add features and scale the code to handle more events.
• Mentor and share knowledge with other developers in the team.
• Write clean and performant Java code.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging streaming technologies and propose new solutions that can improve our products.
Who you are
• 3+ years of experience in Java or Kotlin.
• Has experience with streaming applications such as Kafka Streams or Apache Flink.
• Ability to break down complex problems into smaller tasks and iterative solutions.
• Eager to learn and humble team player
• Knowledge of JVM performance optimization techniques and tradeoffs.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience with mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Bonus: Scala, ETL knowledge (RabbitMQ or similar)
