hela Sverige Our R&D team is a part of a global organization with R&D units in Sweden, Germany, France, US, India and Korea. We work in a result oriented organization with continuous improvements and cross functionality as working methods. We have full design responsibility from concept to detail design and product maintenance.
Within our R&D organization, Structures & Exterior Systems have the global design responsibility for structural and exterior parts for all Volvo CE machines and vehicles. Our responsibility covers quality, delivery (of design solutions), cost (project and product) and feature levels per our technology area. We work in close collaboration with fabrication (heavy weldments) and suppliers (plastic and sheet metal).
Structure & Exterior Systems are facing many new challenges and we are now updating our organization to meet future demands and a new team with focus on common solutions, both from a technology perspective and a process perspective is formed.
To be able to meet these challenges we need to strengthen our organization with a new colleague that has a passion for our technology but also for driving change and improvements
Your responsibilities will be:
Develop and lead S &E strategy work ,together with mgmt team.
Focus on strategies and the implementation in our team to support the overall Volvo CE targets.
Drive changes to the way we work based on Technology plans, modularization and supplier involvement
Required skills:
We are looking for an experienced engineer with a wish to work in an international environment
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, heavy manufacturing and MSc or similar education
Experienced engineer with a deep understanding of design and manufacturing of sheet metal parts, plastic hoods and heavy welded structures
An interest in developing the organization and willing to share knowledge
Experience from international team work and change management
Good understanding of the industrial environment and cost drivers in a global context
Excellent communication skills and the ability to drive change management activities and secure implementation within the global organization
It is important that you have a genuine interest of working with people from different cultures combined with a technology understanding
Fluent in English is a prerequisite
International traveling is a part of the job
You will report to the Director Structure and Exterior Systems.
