Strategy Consultant / Market Intelligence
The Strategy department within PS DG (Power Generation Distributed Generation Services) is looking for a business-minded individual with the interest and determination of following and assessing our global gas and steam turbines business from a market perspective.
The energy branch is highly dynamic and influenced by a variety of factors that have a great impact on our financial business volumes. There are continual changes on both global and local levels that have a major impact on our customers business decisions - Political instability and volatile oil prices are just a few parameters that affect us today. We need to follow our customers environments by assessing how our business may prosper or suffer from market changes.
What are my responsibilities?
Actively monitor the major business environment trends that influence our business in all Regions by continually reviewing internal and external news/trends/informational sources. This includes macro-environmental as well as industry-specific aspects.
Quantify and assess financial impact on various Business Unit levels to assess the needs for business decisions. Identify actions.
Coordinate mitigation activities on a BU level
Analyze customer input (surveys, conferences, etc.) and develop a relevant customer segmentation based on customer needs
Coordinate and align the market analysis activities with our Service colleagues in the Regions and Headquarters (Product Lines)
Develop relevant Business Unit templates for various strategic process
Contribute to further development of our model to determine market potentials
Follow-up implementation tactics and measures for market and business strategies.
Contribute to several high-level tasks by creating concise presentations in the areas of market and competitor analysis.
Additional strategic tasks will arise from time to time.
The role entails regular interaction with a variety of departments across the entire Business Unit. You will be based in Finspong (Sweden), Lincoln (U.K.) or Warwick (U.K.) and be part of a global team comprised of several energetic employees within the global Strategy organization.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
You are highly independent, flexible, ambitious and well-structured. You possess excellent analytical, networking, communication and presentation skills, as well as have a strong interest for commercial issues/questions. You have the ability to efficiently compile and interpret market, competitor and customer related information and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders on different hierarchical levels.You have a university degree in engineering, industrial engineering or business administration. A Masters degree is preferred. You have working experience from within in the industry, market intelligence and/or a background in consulting.
