What you'll do
Welcome to Safe Vehicle Automation, we are a Unit within Engineering with around ~600 employees with the purpose to Ensure Safe, Controlled & Efficient Mobility for Volvo Cars customers.
Guided by our new vision of Zero Collisions, we shall secure leadership within Active Safety, where unsupervised driving is our final step. In addition, we should deliver a world class Vehicle Motion experience and best-in-classProtective Safety, enabled by a future usage of our new improved platform capabilities.
The Business and Strategy team in the Safe Vehicle Automation Unit is responsible to align the business needs and priorities, research initiatives, strategies, roadmaps, external partnerships and business plans with the rest of the Engineering Units as well as with external business stakeholders, finance and customers where applicable. We are a small but experienced team at the core of the Unit, supporting the strategic decisions and guidance of the organization, the most interesting topics if you ask us!
Our mission is to secure the best strategic business alignment and direction to our organization to facilitate the development of the safest, controlled and efficient mobility products. Our team contribution is utilized in high-level cross-Engineering objectives, research portfolios and roadmaps and strategies. We are currently in a build-up phase of the team, so if you join us now, you will be able to be part of setting the way of working as we move forward.

As the Strategy Analyst you will work with the breakdown of the incoming business needs, strategies and roadmaps from adjacent Engineering units into Safe Vehicle Automation internal strategies, product delta steps and roadmap updates. Your every day working environment will be a close collaboration with our teams of Business owners, Architects and Product leaders to secure us moving in harmony forward and in line with our objectives for progress. We continuously evaluate our performance towards the competition in our field of technology and you would be deeply involved in arranging and concluding such activities for the organization. On occasions our roadmaps and product evaluations are presented to executive management and here you would play an important role to make secure good materials for the purpose at hand.

What you'll bring
We believe that you previously have gained experience from product owner, business owner, strategist or architecture roles in the automotive industry, particularly from our field of technology (Mobility, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, Protective Safety, Vehicle Motion Control, Intelligent Connected Vehicles or similar). Either you have worked with more strategic perspectives for your area for a while or are ready to take the step now with us.
You are an engaged person that feel comfortable to work in a large organization and delivers results even under tough circumstances. In your work you combine knowledge and an analysis mind in understanding the business needs with skills to give clarity to the development organization. Throughout the workflow you communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You combine different opinions by convincing argumentation and negotiations. You are also interested in building and shaping ways of working as a leader together with the team, understanding the need to work with continuous improvements and how to align it with organizations while transforming. It feels natural for you to take a leading role in meetings to make progress and when presenting. You are creative and solve problems that occur even when the available information is limited or biased.
Qualifications for a Strategy Analyst are a minimum bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Economics or related field with 5+ years of experience in roles that involves business or product development in a leading role (primarily automotive sector).
