Job SummaryDemica Export is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist for pharmaceutical and medical equipment in the Contract Manufacturing organization. This is a hands-on tactical role and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all categories related. Sourcing products from different locations in Europe and developing a business relationship with different locations especially Arabic speaking countries is the main concern of the company.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead Purchasing Category Teams in providing Company functions necessary to provide the organization with on-time delivery, high quality, and lowest total cost of ownership for the assigned commodities.Continue To review products availability levels. Develop and execute strategies to maintain optimal products levels.Handle unacceptable material shortages, damaged problems, etc. Problem solving and identifying areas for improvement to achieve highest possible efficiencies.Work with Director of Purchasing to develop and execute short-term/long-term strategies to ensure that Purchasing team performances meet Company goals and objectives.Provide highest level of communication and procurement services to all internal functions to ensure that Company obtains the many advantages resulting from early purchasing and supplier involvement in product design and development.Compile and communicate with internal stakeholders the analysis and reports on the supply market outlook, trends, innovations, cost drivers, and the competition's supply strategies from the Purchasing Category Teams.Visit suppliers and conduct supplier audits when necessary. Evaluate vendor performances and carry out corrective action plans for improvements.Supervise, motivate and develop the Purchasing Category Teams of materials and services. Purchasing Category Teams directly reports to this position.Develop and manage assigned key supplier relationships to deliver reliable product supply and total cost effectiveness while meeting or exceeding all customer service, compliance, product requirements, and key performance metrics. This includes material and process selection for purchases, locating and selecting suppliers, negotiating supply agreements and establishing supplier performance metrics.Develop and improve large spend category strategies and major business processes such as business continuity and supplier selection to deliver annual improvements in total cost, quality and service, and support sites as needed.Communicate, monitor, and manage compliance with the sourcing strategy or business process.Establish close working relationships with other functions, (e. g. Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Inventory, Product Development, Accounting, Technical Manufacturing, and Marketing) to ensure full understanding and support of strategic sourcing perspective to key processes and address technical needs and regulatory requirements.Administer contracts for key suppliers.Track and manage performance of suppliers and ensure that performance issues are quickly addressed.productivity improvements by leading internal and joint supplier teams pursuing cost reduction opportunities in alignment with sourcing strategy (e. g. lowering inventory levels, increasing yields, reduce material costs, operation improvement, etc.).Develop an expertise in the business needs and capabilities for major spend categories or key business processes. Keep up with supply market trends, supplier economics, and best practice sourcing.Provide category and process expertise to create and execute sourcing strategies and lead supplier management for defined categories.Work directly with Director of Demand Planning and Forecasting for successful cohesive results, with an understanding of working capital impact and cash-to-cash cycle.Manage key sourcing process steps, including opportunity assessment, strategy development, data analysis, supplier negotiation, award recommendations, and supplier contract execution.QualificationsExperience with medical regulations and dietary supplement/pharmaceutical/food supply chain is preferred.Specialist knowledge of procurement concepts, global supply chain processes, activities, and trends.Excellent negotiation skills with both large and small suppliers.Advanced analytical interpretation and problem solving skills.Unimpeachable ethics.Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.Excellent mastery of Excel, Access, Word, and other MS Office applications.ERP/MRP experience.Excellent organizational skills.Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts with both English and Arabic languages.Solid decision-making skills.Ability to provide technical leadership, coupled with people and project management skills.Business, communication, change management, and customer service skills.Requires a minimum of 20 years of experience in supply chain or related field, and relevant experience in a logistics/supply chain role is required.Demonstrated skills in communications, writing skills, contracts, leadership, negotiations, assertiveness, strategic and bottom-line thinking, relationship-building, change management, project and contract management, and utilization of PC-based applications for research, spreadsheet analysis, presentations, and communications.
